MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Travon Maurice Lawrence, age 21, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 78 months in prison for one count of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder in Indian Country.On November 10, 2025, Lawrence pleaded guilty to the charge. According to investigators, on July 5, 2025, police responding to a call of a shooting at an Okmulgee residence discovered the victim in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the arm and torso. Witnesses reported that Lawrence became belligerent during a gathering, pulled a pistol, and fired shots at the victim before fleeing on foot. Officers located Lawrence at an area residence a short time later and took him into custody without incident.
